According to the U.S. Fire Administration, over one-third of Americans use fireplaces, wood stoves and other fuel-fired appliances as primary heat sources in their homes. These appliances are not only good for heating our homes, but for adding to the value of our homes as well. Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the risks associated with using wood-burning fireplaces that are not properly maintained and inspected.
